Ever since I was introduced to the Accounting arena 22 years ago, I have never lost my fascination with how profound the field truly is. Interestingly, my journey began in sales at a bulk mulch company in Kansas City, where after taking a customer order, I would hop into the John Deere skid-steer and load them up. I enjoyed my job, but when my boss asked if I would assist the bookkeeper in the office, I was intrigued. Once she introduced me to QuickBooks I was hooked! That experience later opened doors for me to the business office of a large non-profit, a real estate company and an apartment complex. Gaining experience in these industries was invaluable to me, but I had only begun to scratch the surface of this new world. There was so much I wanted to know!

My hunger to learn accounting was insatiable! I decided to go back to school to earn my degree in Accounting, which I did in 2007 at IWU. By this point we had moved to Fort Wayne for my husband’s new job. I became a Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor.

My next goal was to earn my CPA license which required working at a CPA firm for at least 2 years, in addition to passing the CPA exam. In 2008, I started as a Staff Accountant at a local CPA firm where I managed clients from all kinds of industries, dove into business and individual tax return preparation, all while studying for the exam using the Becker CPA prep course. By the end of 2010 I had passed the exam and had met my 2-year work requirement. I stayed on with the firm for 6 more years in various roles including CPA, Lead Accountant and Tax Manager.

In the Fall of 2016, I switched gears and took a Controller position at a local company. Over the course of the next two years, I received many requests from friends who were starting their own businesses to manage their accounting. I decided it was time to officially start my own accounting and tax company. Picazo Squared, Inc was born in Oct. 2018 and the company I was working for became my client.

I have degrees in both Economics and Accounting from Indiana University, Fort Wayne and Indiana Wesleyan University, respectively. I have worked in the accounting/finance industry since graduating with my Bachelor's degree in 2017. When I am not working, I love traveling, reading, and spending time with my friends, family and many pets.

I was born and raised in the greater Fort Wayne area. I obtained my Business Administration degree from a local college and continued on my education at Purdue University of Fort Wayne where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Business Accounting degree. While enrolled I became a member of the Accounting Society.

While in school, I started out in private accounting for a local company in Fort Wayne. Shortly after, I ventured into the public accounting world. I have four and a half years of experience working for one of the nation's top 10 public accounting firms. In those years I worked as an auditor auditing balance sheets and income statements for various industries. In 2023, I joined Rachael and her Picazo Squared team.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, tennis, yoga, traveling and volunteering.
